Matthew Hunt (* 23. November 2006 in St Leonards) ist ein australischer Sprinter und Hürdenläufer, der sich auf die 400-Meter-Distanz spezialisiert hat. Sein Bruder Thomas Hunt ist ebenfalls als Leichtathlet aktiv.
Sportliche Laufbahn
Erste internationale Erfahrungen sammelte Matthew Hunt im Jahr 2023, als er bei den Commonwealth Youth Games in Port of Spain in 52,37 s den vierten Platz im 400-Meter-Hürdenlauf belegte und mit der australischen Mixed-Staffel über 4-mal 400 Meter in 3:26,23 min die Bronzemedaille gewann. Im Jahr darauf schied er bei den U20-Weltmeisterschaften in Lima mit 52,84 s in der ersten Runde über die Hürden aus und bei den World Athletics Relays 2026 in Gaborone trat er mit der Männerstaffel sowie mit der Mixed-Staffel über 4-mal 400 Meter an. Anschließend siegte er bei den Ozeanienmeisterschaften in Darwin in 49,77 s über 400 m Hürden.
2026 wurde Hunt australischer Meister im 400-Meter-Hürdenlauf.
