Methacholin ist ein Arzneistoff aus der Gruppe der Muskarinrezeptor-Agonisten. Methacholin wird in einem Lungen-Provokationstest, dem sogenannten Methacholintest verwendet, und spielt damit eine Rolle bei der Diagnose des Asthma bronchiale.

Pharmakologische Eigenschaften

Methacholin wird langsamer durch Cholinesterasen abgebaut als Acetylcholin.
