Mhungula ist ein Verwaltungsbezirk (englisch Ward) des Distrikts Kahama (MC) in der tansanischen Region Shinyanga.

Geografie

Mhungula ist ein städtischer Bezirk in der Seezone im Nordwesten von Tansania. Er umfasst den südwestlichen Stadtteil der Distrikthauptstadt Kahama.[2] Bei der Volkszählung 2022 lebten 31.203 Menschen in 8085 Haushalten[3] auf einer Fläche von elf Quadratkilometern.[4]

Der Bezirk grenzt an drei Bezirke des Distrikts Kahama (MC):[5]

Gliederung

Der Bezirk besteht aus drei Stadtteilen (swahili Mtaa):[6]

  • Mhungula
  • Inyanga
  • Bukondamoyo

Infrastruktur

  • Bildung: In Mhungula gibt es drei weiterführende Schulen.[7] Die Nyihogo Secondary School ist eine staatliche Schule, die 2023 von rund 700 Schülern besucht wurde.[8] Die Rwepa's Secondary School[9] und die Vaileth Secondary School[10] sind Privatschulen. Alle bilden Mädchen und Knaben bis zur 4. Stufe aus.
  • Gesundheit: Im Stadtteil Bukondamoyo liegt eine private Apotheke mit angeschlossenem Labor.[11]
