NGC 711 ist eine linsenförmige Galaxie vom Hubble-Typ S0 im Sternbild Widder auf der Ekliptik. Sie ist schätzungsweise 223 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 110.000 Lichtjahren. Vom Sonnensystem aus entfernt sich die Galaxie mit einer errechneten Radialgeschwindigkeit von näherungsweise 4900 Kilometern pro Sekunde.

Im selben Himmelsareal befinden sich unter anderem die Galaxien PGC 6893, PGC 6902, PGC 7073, PGC 101461.[5]

Das Objekt wurde am 4. November 1881 von dem französischen Astronomen Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan entdeckt.[6]
