NGC 7591 ist eine Balken-Spiralgalaxie mit aktivem Galaxienkern vom Hubble-Typ SBbc im Sternbild Fische auf der Ekliptik. Sie ist schätzungsweise 228 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 120.000 Lichtjahren. Vom Sonnensystem aus entfernt sich das Objekt mit einer errechneten Radialgeschwindigkeit von näherungsweise 5.000 Kilometern pro Sekunde.

Im selben Himmelsareal befinden sich unter anderem die Galaxien PGC 70998, PGC 71023, PGC 71034, PGC 1311034.[4]

Das Objekt wurde am 14. August 1864 von Albert Marth entdeckt.[5]
