NGC 7690 ist eine Spiralgalaxie mit ausgedehnten Sternentstehungsgebieten vom Hubble-Typ Sb im Sternbild Phönix am Südsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 65 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 40.000 Lichtjahren.

Das Objekt wurde am 3. Oktober 1834 von dem Astronomen John Herschel[3] mit seinem 18,7-Zoll-Spiegelteleskop entdeckt und später von Johan Dreyer in seinen New General Catalogue aufgenommen.
