NGC 81 ist eine linsenförmige Galaxie vom Hubble-Typ S0 im Sternbild Andromeda am Nordsternhimmel. Sie ist schätzungsweise 281 Millionen Lichtjahre von der Milchstraße entfernt und hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 50.000 Lichtjahren. Vom Sonnensystem aus entfernt sich die Galaxie mit einer errechneten Radialgeschwindigkeit von näherungsweise 6100 Kilometern pro Sekunde.
Das Objekt wurde am 15. November 1873 von dem schottischen Astronomen Ralph Copeland entdeckt.[5]
