Neoxanthops ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit vier rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik, in der gemäßigten Klimazone Südamerikas, an der Pazifikküste sowie in der gemäßigten Klimazone im Südwesten Australiens.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax wird bis zu 33 mm lang. Er ist glatt oder rau, die Regionen sind nicht abgegrenzt. Die Stirn ragt deutlich über den seitlichen Augenhöhlenwinkel hinaus nach vorn und weist einen mittigen Spalt auf. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit vier niedrigen glatten Zähnen bewehrt. Der Carpus der Scherenbeine ist unregelmäßig und weist Grübchen auf, der Propodus trägt unregelmäßige Kämme. Die Schreitbeine sind schlank, der Merus des letzten Schreitbeins ist mehr als doppelt so lang wie breit. Der sechste Somit des Pleons ist bei Männchen so lang wie breit und quadratisch.[2]
