Notolopas ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Epialtidae mit drei Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 101 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordatlantiks, im tropischen Westatlantik und im tropischen Ostpazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 17 mm lang und glatt. Er trägt je einen Dorn in der Herz- und Darmregion sowie ein hervorstehendes Paar in der Kiemenregion. Die beiden Dornen des Rostrums (mittiger Stirnfortsatz) sind in der basalen Hälfte verschmolzen und teilen sich dann in zwei divergierende oder parallele Abschnitte. Der Überaugenvorsprung ist vom Hinteraugendorn durch einen zwischengeschalteten Dorn getrennt. Der vor der Augenhöhle gelegene (präorbitale) Dorn ist dreieckig. Das Basalglied der Antennen ist basal breiter und nahe des Hinteraugenlappens mit einem Höcker bewehrt. Der Leberrand ist glatt, der Kiemenrand ist konvex.[2]

Systematik

Die Gattung wird in die Unterfamilie Pisinae eingeordnet, die Unterteilung der Epialtidae in Unterfamilien ist jedoch umstritten. Sie umfasst folgende Arten:[1]
