Ovatis simplex ist eine Art der Rundkrabben und einziger Vertreter der Gattung Ovatis.[1] Sie besiedelt den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 83 und 92 Meter im zentralen Indopazifik im Bereich des Südchinesischen Meers.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax wird maximal 6 mm lang und 1,5- bis 1,7-mal so breit, wobei die breiteste Stelle in der Mitte liegt. Die Regionen sind schlecht abgrenzbar, die Oberfläche ist glatt. Der vordere Seitenrand ist glatt, abgerundet und unbewehrt.[2]
