Pachygrapsus ist eine Gattung der Quadratkrabben mit 13 rezenten Arten.[1] Sie kommen, mit Ausnahme der Polarmeere, weltweit vor und besiedeln die Gezeitenzone.[2]
Merkmale
Der Carapax ist bis 37 mm lang, flach und trapezförmig, wobei die Ränder nach hinten konvergieren. Die Oberfläche weist zahlreiche Querstreifen auf. Die Stirn ist breiter als die halbe Carapaxbreite. Die Antennen liegen in der Augenhöhle. Der Merus des dritten Maxillipeden ist breiter als lang. Die Propodi der Schreitbeine tragen am Oberrand einige verstreute Borsten oder dicke Flecken auf der Oberfläche, aber keinen Borstensaum am Oberrand.[2]

Synonyme sind Goniograpsus Dana, 1851 und Grapsus (Pachygrapsus) Randall, 1840.[1]
