Palapedia ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit 18 rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 128 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordwestpazifiks sowie im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 20 mm lang, nahezu rund und nur wenig breiter als lang. Der vordere Seitenrand ist gezahnt oder uneben und länger als der hintere. Der dritte Maxilliped ist länglich und dabei etwa 3-mal so lang wie breit, der Carpus ist geschwollen. Die Finger der Scherenbeine sind leicht abgeflacht oder haben scharfe Spitzen. Das letzte Schreitbein ist kräftig, sein Merus ist 1,6-mal so lang wie breit.[2]
