Paragrapsus ist eine Gattung der Krabben aus der Familie Varunidae mit vier Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln Gezeitenzone und Felsküsten in der gemäßigten Klimazone im Südosten Australiens.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 45 mm lang und breiter als lang. Die Stirn steht nach vorn über die Antennulen hinaus. Die vorderen Seitenränder verlaufen konvex und sind hinter dem Exorbitalzahn (am äußeren Augenwinkel) mit einem oder zwei Zähnen bewehrt. Der für andere Gattungen der Unterfamilie typische Kamm am Unterrand der Augenhöhle bei Männchen ist nicht ausgebildet.[2]
