Paraxanthodes ist eine Gattung der Rundkrabben mit drei rezenten Arten.[1] Sie besiedeln die Gezeitenzone und den Schelf in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 210 m in der gemäßigten Klimazone des Nordwestpazifiks sowie im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 30 mm lang, annähernd sechseckig und breiter als lang. Die Regionen sind deutlich. Der vordere Seitenrand ist mit vier Zähnen bewehrt. Die Kämme auf dem Endostom sind vollständig und reichen nach vorn bis an das Epistom. Der Merus des letzten Schreitbeins ist 2,5-mal so lang wie breit. Der sechste Somit ist breiter als lang und erscheint als quergestelltes Rechteck. Das erste Gonopodium ist schlank, am Ende gebogen und trägt kurz vor dem Ende kurze Dornen.[2]
