- In der Kardiologie eine Katheterform, die bei der Herzkatheteruntersuchung zur Darstellung der ventrikulären Pumpfunktion und der valvulären Schließfunktion dient.
- In der Medizin werden manche Drainagekatheter ebenfalls als Pigtail bezeichnet.
- In der Urologie die Harnleiterschienen.
