Pimpla patirrufa ist eine Schlupfwespe aus der Unterfamilie der Pimplinae. Pimpla patirrufa wurde von Pádua, Fernandes & Sääksjärvi im Jahr 2020 gemäß den internationalen Regeln für die Zoologische Nomenklatur als Ersatzname für Pimpla rufipes Brullé, 1846 eingeführt, da der Taxonname schon für Pimpla rufipes (Miller, 1759) vergeben ist.[1] Das gewählte Art-Epitheton patirrufa wurde von dem spanischen Begriff „patas rufas“ abgeleitet, welcher der spanischen Transliteration von Pimpla rufipes entspricht.[1]

Merkmale

Die Schlupfwespen der Art zeichnen sich durch folgende Merkmalskombination aus:[1] Die Flügel sind hyalin durchscheinend mit einer schwachen bräunlichen Färbung. Das Mesosoma ist schwarz glänzend. Das Metasoma ist schwarz mit einer mehr oder weniger braunen Färbung an den apikalen Rändern. Die Laterotergite V sind 1,4–1,6 Mal so lang wie breit. Die Beine sind orange, die vorderen Coxae orange oder schwarz, die vorderen und mittleren Tarsen sind etwas matter orange bis leicht dunkelbraun. Die hinteren Tibien sind matter orange mit eher schwacher schwärzlicher Färbung an der Spitze. Die Hintertarsen sind größtenteils schwärzlich bis schwarz. Das Tergit II hat große kräftige Eindrücke. Die Wangen (malar space) sind 1,0–1,1 Mal so lang als die basale Breite der Mandibeln. Der Legebohrer der Weibchen ist 1,3–1,6 Mal so lang als die Hintertibien. Der Legebohrer ist zylindrisch. Die Spitze der oberen Bohrerklappe ist ohne Zähnchen. Die untere Bohrerklappe hat leicht konvexe Zähnchen an der Spitze.

Verbreitung

Pimpla patirrufa kommt im Südosten Südamerikas in Argentinien, Brasilien und Uruguay vor.[1]

Lebensweise

Die Vertreter der Gattung Pimpla sind als idiobionte Endoparasitoide von Präpuppen und Puppen verschiedener Schmetterlinge bekannt. Eine Wirtsgattung von Pimpla patirrufa ist Plusia aus der Familie Noctuidae.[1]
