Polydectus cupulifer ist eine Art der Rundkrabben und einziger Vertreter der Gattung Polydectus.[1] Sie besiedelt Korallenschutt in der Gezeitenzone in Tiefen zwischen 0 und 6 m im Indopazifik.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist bis zu 12 mm lang, oval und mit einem dichten Filz bedeckt, der sich auch auf alle Pereiopoden fortsetzt. Der vordere Seitenrand geht ohne Grenze in den hinteren über, beide sind glatt und beborstet. Das erste Schreitbein ist genau so groß wie die beiden folgenden.[2]

Synonyme

Synonyme sind Cancer cupulifer Latreille in Milbert, 1812, Polydectus cupulifera (Latreille in Milbert, 1812) und Polydectus villosus Dana, 1852.[1]
