Die Primatomorpha sind ein aufgrund molekulargenetischer Untersuchungen festgelegtes Taxon innerhalb der Höheren Säugetiere. Sie gingen vor etwa 86,2 Millionen Jahren zusammen mit den Spitzhörnchen (Scandentia) als Euarchonta aus der Gruppe der Euarchontoglires hervor.
Vor etwa 79,6 Millionen Jahren spalteten sie sich in die beiden Säugetierordnungen Primaten (Primates) und Riesengleiter (Dermoptera) auf.[1]
