Als Radio Network Subsystem, kurz RNS, wird in UMTS-Mobilfunknetzwerken ein einzelner Radio Network Controller (RNC) mit den an ihn angeschlossenen Node Bs (Basisstationen) bezeichnet.
Zumeist eine Vielzahl von untereinander verbundenen RNS bilden das Radio Access Network (UTRAN). Mit dem zugehörigen Network Switching Subsystem (Core Network) und weiteren Netzwerkelementen bildet es die Systemstruktur des UMTS-Netzwerks.
