Die Strale ist eine Zweimann-Jolle mit Trapez und Spinnaker.
Beschreibung
Die Jolle wurde 1966 vom norditalienischen Konstrukteur Ettore Santarelli entworfen, konnte sich aber in Deutschland, aufgrund der Konkurrenz zu Korsar und 470er, nie richtig etablieren. Gebaut wurde sie unter anderem von den italienischen Werften Bianchi & Cecchi in Cogoleto, La Prairie Zanlonghi, Santarelli und Plastilupi, jedoch auch von Vötterl am Starnberger See sowie in Frankreich.
In den 1970er und 1980er Jahren gab es eine deutsche Strale-Klassenvereinigung, welche auch Regatten ausführte. Die Strale wurde in Deutschland hauptsächlich im süddeutschen Raum, wie etwa auf dem Bodensee, Ammersee oder Wörthsee gesegelt.
