Topsite ist ein Begriff aus der Warez-Szene und beschreibt FTP-Server, die von Release Groups zur unautorisierten Verteilung und Aufbewahrung von urheberrechtlich geschütztem Material genutzt werden.[1] Speicherplatz im Terabyte-Bereich ist der Regelfall. Ein 2003 in Frankfurt beschlagnahmter Server enthielt elf Terabyte entwendeter Daten.[2] Die schwedische Warez-Topsite Devel beherbergte bis zu ihrem Ende 2010 etwa 200 bis 250 Terabyte an Daten.[3]
