Tubuca ist eine Gattung der Ocypodoidea mit 22 rezenten Arten.[1] Sie bewohnen Flussmündungen und die Gezeitenzone im westlichen und zentralen Indopazifik.[2]
Merkmale
Der Carapax ist bis zu 35 mm breit und hat nur bei Weibchen hinten-seitliche Streifen (Striae). Die Stirn ist schmal. Die obere, dem Propodus zugewandte Fläche des größeren Scherenbeins ist flach und hat eine scharfe Kante. Die Außenfläche des Propodus der größeren Schere bei Männchen ist höckerig. Die Finger sind zangenartig und haben gerade Schneideränder, die weniger als halb so lang wie die Finger sind. Der Unterrand des feststehenden Fingers (Dactylus) ist manchmal gekielt. Der Merus des kleineren Scherenbeins trägt steife kurze Borsten. Die Magenmühle (siehe auch Krabben#Verdauungssystem) hat an der Basis der hinteren Zahnplatte keine Borsten.[2]
