Die Typ 12 Ship-to-Ship Missile (japanisch 12式地対艦誘導弾 ‚Schiff-Schiff-Lenkflugkörper Typ 12‘, auch SSM-12) ist ein Seezielflugkörper der japanischen Maritimen Selbstverteidigungsstreitkräfte. Die seit 2015 eingesetzte Waffe ersetzte bzw. ergänzte die US-amerikanische RGM-84 Harpoon in der Bewaffnung der japanischen Seestreitkräfte.

Allgemeines

Es handelt sich um eine Weiterentwicklung der Seezielflugkörper Typ 88. Der Typ 12 verfügt über ein Trägheitsnavigationssystem mit GNSS-gestützter Mittelkursführung und bietet dank verbesserter Geländekonturanpassung und Zielunterscheidungsfähigkeiten eine höhere Präzision. Die Waffe ist vernetzt, sodass die Zielerfassung im Anfangs- und Mittelkurs von anderen Plattformen übernommen werden kann. Sie zeichnet sich durch kürzere Nachladezeiten, geringere Lebenszykluskosten und eine Reichweite ab 230 km aus.
