UBJSON kurz für Universal Binary JSON ist ein offenes Dateiformat, das zu den Binärvarianten von JSON zählt. Um eine breitere Akzeptanz zu erreichen, versucht man mit UBJSON näher am Ursprungsformat zu bleiben und priorisiert leichte Lesbarkeit. Datentypen, die in JSON nicht vorkommen, werden nicht unterstützt.[2]

Verwendung

Die mathematische Programmiersprache Wolfram Language erlaubt Importe und Export von UBJSON.[3] Die Datenbank Teradata unterstützt UBJSON, weicht jedoch von der Spezifikation ab, indem sie Werte in little-endian kodiert.[4]
