Yarepotamon ist eine Gattung von Süßwasserkrabben mit vier rezenten Arten.[1] Sie sind in der Autonomen Region Guangxi Zhuang (Provinz Guizhou) im Südwesten Chinas beheimatet. Der Gattungsname leitet sich von ‚Yare‘ (deutsch ‚Südchina‘) ab.[2]

Merkmale

Der Carapax ist zwischen 18 und 25 mm breit und glatt. Der Exopodit des dritten Maxillipeden trägt keine oder nur eine stark reduzierte kurze Geißel. Die mittige Längsrinne auf dem thorakalen Sternum ist mäßig tief. Die Naht zwischen den Sterniten 7 und 8 ist eher lang. Das Endglied des ersten Gonopodium trägt nahe dem Ende einen Lappen, der einen zusätzlichen Auswuchs aufweisen kann. Die Gonopore liegt endständig. Die Rinne für das zweite Gonopodium liegt mittig auf dem ersten Gonopodium.[2]
