Miss Naomi Carter is a drag performer; her name was inspired by Naomi Campbell and Beyoncé (Carter),[2][3] and she has said the "Miss" is "to let the boys know that [she's] single".[4] She has been the resident drag queen for Propaganda and Fuel in Hull.[5]
Miss Naomi Carter competed on series 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. She was the first contestant of Gambian heritage to compete on any Drag Race franchise.[6] She had been doing drag for approximately five years,[7] and was cast after applying to be on the show three times.[8] On the second episode, Miss Naomi Carter placed in the bottom two and won the lip-sync contest against Alexis Saint-Pete.[9] For the girl group challenge, she was a member of The M52s, with Banksie, Ginger Johnson, and Kate Butch. Prior to the performance, Miss Naomi Carter injured her knee on the set, forcing her to use a couch while other danced around her.[10] Ginger Johnson "played" Miss Naomi Carter's leg like a saxophone.[11] On the fourth episode, Miss Naomi Carter placed in the bottom two and was eliminated from the competition after losing a lip-sync against Cara Melle to Yazz's "The Only Way Is Up". Her exit line was, "See you in a bit, dog shit!"[12]
