La vilaĝo situas sur malebenaĵo, laŭ traira flankovojo. Veľký Krtíš troviĝas 35, Šahy 17 km-ojn for.

Historio

La unua mencio pri la vilaĝo devenis el 1257 en formo "Kelenen". En 1910 loĝis tie 489 da homoj, (plejparte hungaroj). Ĝis 1919 la vilaĝo apartenis al Hont, al distrikto de Ipolynyék, poste al Ĉeĥoslovakio, fine ekde 1993 al Slovakio. Inter 1938-1944 la vilaĝo rehungariĝis. La unua Arbitracio de Vieno deklaris, ke tiuj komunumoj, kie la hungaroj vivas en majoritato, apartenu al Hungario. Post la 2-a mondmilito la hungaroj iĝis senrajtaj laŭ Dekretoj de Beneš. En 2001 loĝis tie 336 da homoj, (310 hungaroj). La vilaĝo havas katolikan hungarlingvan bazlernejon.
