Chastain es una banda de heavy metal formada por el guitarrista David T. Chastain en Cincinnati, Estados Unidos.[1]​ Han lanzado hasta la fecha más de diez álbumes de estudio, y entre sus filas han contado con músicos reconocidos, como el caso de Fred Coury, baterista de Cinderella.[2]​

Chastain es una banda estadounidense de heavy metal , formada en 1984 por el guitarrista David T. Chastain y firmada por Shrapnel Records. [3]​

Carrera

La banda fue formada en 1984 por Mike Varney , presidente de Shrapnel, para un álbum solista de David T. Chastain. Varney había notado la habilidad de Chastain con la guitarra , miembro de la banda CJSS de Cincinnati , y, al mismo tiempo, quería crear un proyecto para el talento del joven cantante Leather Leone , anteriormente miembro de la banda Rude Girl de San Francisco . [2]​ La primera formación de la banda incluía a Leone, Chastain, el bajista de CJSS, Mike Skimmerhorn, y el baterista Fred Coury , quien más tarde tocó en Cinderella . Su álbum debut Mystery of Illusion fue lanzado mundialmente en 1985, seguido de Ruler of the Wasteland (1986), ambos a través de Shrapnel, y The 7th of Never (1987) a través del propio sello de David Chastain, Leviathan Records. [4]​ El baterista Ken Mary ( Fifth Angel , TKO , Flotsam and Jetsam (banda) ) reemplazó a Coury de 1986 a 1988. El cuarto álbum The Voice of the Cult fue lanzado en 1988. En For Those Who Dare de 1990 , el nuevo virtuoso bajista David Harbour reemplazó a Skimmerhorn y el baterista John Luke Hebert reemplazó a Mary, quien se fue a tocar con Alice Cooper . Después de poner a CJSS en pausa para favorecer al más exitoso comercialmente Chastain, la banda también se convirtió en la principal ocupación de giras de David T. Chastain se reunió con la vocalista original Leather Leone, Mike Skimmerhorn y el baterista Stian Kristoffersen (Pagan's Mind) para lanzar "Surrender to No One" en 2013 y "We Bleed Metal" en 2015. Leather continúa de gira bajo su propio nombre interpretando temas clásicos y nuevos de Chastain.
