Elephant Shell es el primer LP de la banda canadiense Tokyo Police Club.

Fue publicado en Estados Unidos, Canadá y Australia el 22 de abril de 2008 por Saddle Creek Records, y en el Reino Unido y Europa continental el 5 de mayo de 2008. Las canciones «In a Cave», «Juno» y «Tessellate» fueron publicadas en el perfil oficial del grupo en MySpace.[1]​

El álbum se filtró en Internet el 7 de marzo de 2008. En respuesta, Saddle Creek Records ofreció el álbum en su sitio web como descarga en formato MP3 de alta calidad por 9,00 dólares estadounidenses. La iTunes Store puso el álbum a la venta de forma anticipada el 25 de marzo. A partir del 25 de abril, MTV Canada permitió la escucha gratuita del álbum en línea como parte de su iniciativa «The Leak». La fiesta oficial de lanzamiento del álbum se celebró en el Bowery Ballroom de Nueva York, con la participación de los grupos Smoosh y The Meligrove Band.[2]​

Desempeño en listas

El álbum debutó en el puesto n.º 1 de la lista Billboard Top Heatseekers en Estados Unidos y alcanzó el puesto n.º 10 en la lista de álbumes de Canadá.[3]​
