Austin er fjórðstørsti býurin og høvuðsstaður í amerikanska deilstatinum Texas. Í 2020 búðu fleiri enn 961 túsund fólk í býnum.[1]

Søga

Býurin varð grundlagdur í 1835 undir heitinum Waterloo, men longu í 1838 varð niðursetingin uppkallað eftir Stephen F. Austin (1793-1836) og navnið broytt til Austin.[2]
