Kalvi (frøðiheiti - Hippoglossus hippoglossus) er heimsins størsti flatfiskur. Hann verður upp í 365 cm langur, kanska longri. Vanlig longd er tó 50-200 cm. Kalvi svimur bæði nær landi og út á 1000 m dýpi ella djúpari. Hann livur av krabba og fiski, men etur alt, sum hann klárar at fanga - eisini fugl sum lunda og mása. Kalvi hevur stórt høvd, stóran kjaft og smá eygu. Hann er dýrur fiskur, og tí verður nógv roynt eftir honum.
