Castro Verde (prononciation ['kaʃtɾu 'veɾd(ɨ)]) est une ville et une municipalité du Portugal faisant partie du District de Beja, d'une superficie de 569,4 km2 et une population de 7 276 habitants (en 2011). La ville a 3 819 habitants[2]. Ce bourg agricole doit son nom à un ancien castro préhistorique.
Géographie
Localisation
Castro Verde est limitrophe :
- au nord, de Aljustrel et Beja (Portugal),
- à l'est, de Mértola,
- au sud, de Almodôvar,
- à l'ouest, de Ourique.
Climat
L'Océan Atlantique a peu d'influence dans cette région, où la pluie tombe surtout en automne et en hiver, caractéristique d'un climat méditerranéen, Csa, selon le système de classification climatique de Köppen, sub-humides, étés chauds et secs et hivers humides et doux. La moyenne annuelle des précipitations est de 589 mm.
