UiPath est une multinationale technologique américaine d'origine roumaine, pionnière et l'un des leaders mondiaux de l'automatisation agentique (agentic automation) — une approche combinant agents d'intelligence artificielle, robots logiciels et orchestration pour exécuter et optimiser des processus métier.

Histoire

UiPath est fondée en 2005 à Bucarest sous le nom de DeskOver par l'ingénieur roumain Daniel Dines, ancien de Microsoft, et son associé Marius Tîrcă. L'entreprise développe d'abord des bibliothèques et kits de développement d'automatisation pour d'autres éditeurs, avant de se réorienter à partir de 2015 vers l'automatisation robotisée des processus et d'adopter le nom UiPath. Elle devient la première licorne roumaine en 2018, puis atteint une valorisation d'environ 35 milliards de dollars lors d'un tour de financement en 2021[2], faisant de son fondateur l'un des premiers milliardaires de la tech roumaine[3].

Selon Gartner, elle est en 2019 la première entreprise RPA par part de marché au monde, devant Automation Anywhere et Blue Prism[4].
