Adomas Žeimys-Žeimavičius

Adomas Žeimys-Žeimavičius (1854 m. Kontaučiuose, dab. Telšių rajonas) – 1909 m. gruodžio 30 d. Pelekuose, dab. Baltarusijos Breslaujos rajonas) – Lietuvos kunigas, Katalikų bažnyčios istorikas ir literatas.

Biografija

Dirbo vaistinėje, 1889 m. baigė Kauno kunigų seminariją ir buvo įšventintas kunigu. Tarnavo Varniuose (1890–1893 m.), Ylakiuose (1893–1895 m.), Vosyliškėse (apie 1896–1904 m.), Apse. Apie 1905 m. paskirtas kunigu į Pelekų Šv. apaštalo Jokūbo bažnyčią, pastoracinį darbą joje dirbo iki mirties.[1] Aktyviai dalyvaudavo visuomeniniame darbe: Apse įsteigė „Saulės" draugijos skyrių, Pelekuose savo lėšomis pastatė Liaudies namus ir juose įrengtoje slaptoje lietuviškoje mokykloje pats dėstė.[2] Rašė straipsnius į Žemaičių ir Lietuvos apžvalgą, Tėvynės sargą, Vienybę Lietuvninkų, Viltį ir kt.[3] Tilžėje A. Judučio iš Daubų slapyvardžiu išspausdino knygutę Lietuvos bažnyčių istorijos temomis.

Palaidotas Pelekų Šv. apaštalo Jokūbo bažnyčios šventoriuje, išlikęs antkapinis paminklas.
