Lužitėnų kultūra (vok. Lausitzer Kultur) – bronzos ir ankstyvojo geležies amžiaus archeologinė kultūra, pavadinta pagal Lužicos srities (Vokietija) kasinėtus kapinynus ir gyvenvietes.

Arealas

Lužitėnų kultūra XIII a. pr. m. e. buvo paplitusi Vakarų ir Vidurio Europoje: teritorijoje nuo Baltijos pajūrio iki Dunojaus ir nuo Šprė upės iki Voluinės ir Pripetės baseino vakarinės dalies. Ji susiklostė dab. Lenkijos teritorijoje veikiama Tšinieco kultūros. Bronzos amžiaus pabaigoje susidarė keletas savitų sričių. Lužitėnų kultūros elementų randama Polesėje, Vidurio Dunojaus srityse, Čekijoje.

Kultūra

Lužitėnų kultūrai būdingi dideli kapinynai, vadinamieji laidojimo laukai: Laskoje (Lenkija) rasta 1800, Čekijos ir Moravijos kapinynuose – nuo 200 iki 300 kapų. Mirusieji laidoti sudeginti, jų palaikai supilti į urnas arba duobutes, apstatyti puodais; kai kurios urnos apdėtos akmenimis.

Lužitėnų kultūros žmonės gyveno sėsliai, gyvenvietes kūrė aukštumose, netoli upių, salose (Biskupinas). Vėlyvajame bronzos amžiuje gyvenvietės pradėtos įtvirtinti pylimais, grioviais. Namai statyti stulpinės konstrukcijos, keturkampiai, kelių patalpų, vienoje jų buvo židinys.

Gyventojai vertėsi žemdirbyste ir gyvulininkyste, t. p. medžiokle, žvejyba. Žemę dirbo mediniu arklu, pradėtas naudoti plūgas, augino kviečius, rugius, avižas, pupas, žirnius. Iš atvežtinės bronzos gamino kirvius, pjautuvus, peilius, kalavijus, iečių antgalius, papuošalus. Kai kuriose srityse plito aukso dirbiniai. VII a. pr. m. e. – VI a. pr. m. e. pradėta apdirbti geležį, jos apdirbimas pirmojo tūkstantmečio pr. m. e. antroje pusėje išplito. Naudojo lipdytą keramiką: amforas, ąsočius, puodelius. Lietuvoje jos rasta Kurmaičių kapinyne.

Dauguma mokslininkų Lužitėnų kultūrą priskiria slavų protėviams.^[1] Archeologai pastebi, kad Lužitėnų kultūra nebuvo vienalytė ir vokiečių kalbininkas H.Schallis ir kiti mano, kad seniausi hidronimai tarp Oderio ir Elbės priklauso baltams^[2].
