Paulius Racevičius (1908 m. gruodžio 15 d. Laukuva, Šilalės r. – 1941 m. birželio 27 d. šalia Kriukų, Joniškio r.) – Lietuvos katalikų kunigas ir visuomenės veikėjas.[1]

Biografija

Joniškio kankinių - Dievo Tarnų kun. Pauliaus Racevičiaus ir Vlado Kaselio kapas bažnyčios šventoriuje

Mokėsi Laukuvoje, Rietave, Kražiuose, Kaune. 1929 m. baigė Kauno Metropolijos kunigų seminariją. 1935 m. baigė VDU Teologijos-Filosofijos fakulteto Teologijos skyrių. 1933 m. balandžio 1 d. gavo kunigystės šventimus. 1933–1936 m. vikaravo Seredžiuje. 1936–1938 m. dirbo vikaru ir valstybinės progimnazijos kapelionu Šėtoje. 1938–1941 m. – vikaru ir gimnazijos tikybos mokytoju bei kapelionu Joniškyje. Buvo ateitininkų vadovas.[2]

1941 m. frontui artėjant prie Joniškio, su bažnyčios patarnautoju Vladu Kaseliu gelbėdamas vertingas knygas, pasitraukė į kaimą pas ūkininką Laurinaitį. Siekdamas padėti, Vladas Kaselis paliko abu mažamečius vaikus Vandutę ir Poviliuką žmonos Uršulės Janulytės-Racevičienės priežiūrai. 1941 m. birželio 27 d. Paulius ir Vladas, skubėdami iš Kriukų į Joniškį, pakeliui sutiko NKVD sunkvežimį, bėgantį nuo artėjančios vokiečių armijos. Pažinę kunigą ir bažnyčios patarnautoją, stribai juos suėmė ir po kankinimų nužudė.[3] 1941 m. liepos 11 d. abu perlaidoti Joniškio Švč. M. Marijos Ėmimo į dangų bažnyčios šventoriuje.[4]

Atminimo įamžinimas

2000 m. gegužės 7 d. Romoje, prie Koliziejaus, per popiežius Jonas Paulius II vadovaujamas ekumenines pamaldas Paulius Racevičius kaip Lietuvos XX a. tikėjimo liudytojas įrašytas į Bažnyčios martirologą.[1]

Beatifikacijos byla

2021 m. spalio 23 d. Šiaulių vyskupijoje pradėta beatifikacijos byla.[1][5] Beatifikacijos bylos postulatoriumi paskirtas kun. Remigijus Jurevičius.[6]
