Philippe Marsset (født 30. september 1957 i Lyon i Frankrike) er en fransk geistlig og katolsk hjelpebiskop i Paris.

Liv og virke

Bakgrunn

Etter eksamen fra videregående skolegang studerte Philippe Marsset først ved fakultetet for jus, økonomi og ledelse ved Universitetet Paris Descartes og ved Universitetet i Nantes, hvor han oppnådde lisensiat i offentlig rett.

I 1982 gikk han inn på Saint Sulpice-seminaret i bispedømmet Nanterre, hvor han oppnådde sin teologiske grad. Paris-hjelpebiskopen Claude Frikart C.I.M. ordinerte ham til diakon for erkebispedømmet i Paris den 4. oktober 1987.

Prest

Han ble presteviet av erkebiskopen av Paris, kardinal Jean-Marie Lustiger, den 25. juni 1988.[2]

I tillegg til ulike oppgaver innen menighets- og skolesjelesorg var han stifts- og regionsprest for speiderforeningen Scouts de France fra 1994 til 1998. Fra 2008 til 2017 var han nasjonal kapellan i foreningen CLER Amour et Famille og fra 2011 til 2018 dekan for dekanatet Clignancourt-La Chapelle. Fra 2014 til 2017 var han medlem av presterådet og fra 2015 til 2018 av konsultorkollegiet i erkebispedømmet Paris. I 2018 utnevnte erkebiskop Michel Aupetit ham til generalvikar for erkebispedømmet.[2]

Hjelpebiskop i Paris

Den 18. mai 2019 utnevnte pave Frans ham til titulærbiskop av Thibica og hjelpebiskop i Paris.[2] Den 6. september samme år ordinerte erkebiskop Aupetit ham til biskop i kirken Saint Sulpice. Medkonsekratorer var Aupetits forgjenger kardinal André Vingt-Trois, erkebiskopen av Reims, Éric de Moulins-Beaufort, og Antoine Hérouard, hjelpebiskop i Lille.
