Badister (лат. , от др.-греч. βᾰδιστής «пешеход») — род жужелиц из подсемейства Harpalinae (или Pterostichinae).
Распространены
Встречается в Голарктическом и Ориентальном регионах. Около 20 видов встречаются в Палеарктике и примерно десять в Европе[2].
Описание
Жужелицы длиной обычно 4—9 мм. Усики опушены начиная с третьего сегмента. Последние сегменты щупиков заострены. Промежутки надкрылий без густой точечности[3]. Многие виды этого рода имеют яркую красно-чёрную окраску. Влаголюбивые и довольно стенотопные виды, часто встречающиеся в непосредственной близости друг от друга. Активны ночью. Размножение происходит весной. Большинство видов способны летать[2].
