Описание

Среднего размера жуки (10—15 мм), тело широкое вытянутое, заострённое в заднем конце; ярко окрашенные с металлическим отблеском. Верхняя часть немного плоская. Надкрылья имеют грубые пунктирные линии[1]. Глаза большие, выпуклые, расположены близко к переднегруди[2]. Ширина пронотума равна ширине оснований надкрылий[3].

Систематика

Около 40 видов. Род был впервые выделен в 1836 году[4]. Включён в состав отдельной трибы Bubastini Obenberger, 1920 из подсемейства Buprestinae Leach, 1815[1][5]. В 1996 году вместе с двумя афротропическими монотипическими родами (Strandiola paradoxa Obenberger из Сомали и Bubastoides argodi Kerremans из Мозамбика) был выделен в подтрибу Bubastina[6].
