Al-Rastan (Arabic: الرستن) is the third lairgest ceety in the Homs Govrenorate,[2] locatit 20 kilometer (12 mi) north o its admeenistrative caipital Homs an 22 kilometer (14 mi) frae Hama. Nearbi localities include Talbiseh an al-Ghantoo tae the sooth, al-Mashrafah tae the sootheast, Tumin tae the north, Deir al-Fardis tae the northwast an Taldou an Houla tae the wast.[3] Al-Rastan haed a population o nearly 40,000 in 2004.[1]
