The ankh (/ˈæŋk/ or /ˈɑːŋk/; Egyptian IPA: [*ʕaːnax]; U+2625 ☥ or U+132F9 𓋹), kent as key o life, the key o the Nile or crux ansata (Laitin meanin "cross wi a handle") an aw, wis the auncient Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "life", a triliteral sign for the consonants -n-.

It represents the concept o eternal life, which is the general meanin o the seembol.[1] The Egyptian gods are eften portrayed carryin it bu its loop, or bearing ane in each haund, airms crossed ower thair chest.
