Koi (鯉, Japanese: [koꜜi]) or mair speceefically nishikigoi (錦鯉, [ɲiɕi̥kiꜜɡoi], leeterally "brocaded cairp"), are coloured varieties o Amur cairp (Cyprinus rubrofuscus) that are kept for decorative purposes in ootduir koi ponds or watter gairdens.[1]
