Mathilde Bonaparte (Mathilde Laetitia Wilhelmine; 27 Mey 1820 – 2 Januar 1904), was a French princess and salonnière. She wis a dochter o Napoleon's brither Jérôme Bonaparte an his secoint wife, Catharina o Württemberg, dochter o Keeng Frederick I o Württemberg. She wis originally engaged tae her first cousin, the future Napoleon III o Fraunce. in 1870, she mairit the artist and poet Claudius Marcel Popelin (1825–1892). She wis the anly Bonaparte tae stay in Fraunce after Mey 1886, when the French Republic expelled the princes o the former ruling dynasties. In 1896, Prior tae mairiage she wis a Princesse Française' (French princess) She haed nae issue
