Orléans (French pronunciation: [ɔʁleɑ̃]) is a ceety in north central Fraunce, aboot 130 km soothwast o Paris. It is the caipital o the Loiret depairtment an o the region o Centre-Val de Loire.
Orléans is locatit on the Loire River whaur the river curves sooth towards the Massif Central.
The ceety o New Orleans (still cried in French La Nouvelle-Orléans), in the Unitit States is named efter the commune o Orléans.
