The wulver wis kent as a kind soul wha widnae hairm onybodie wha didnae hairm them.[2][3][5] They cuid aften be fund fishin oan a stane in deep watter, still tae this day kent as "Wulver's Stane"[6], an wuid share whit they caught wi fowk wha lived near.[3][4] They wir weel-kent fur leavin fish oan a puir bodie's windae-sole.[6]
