Kamil Turan

Kamil Turan (d. 20 Haziran 1935, Siverek, Şanlıurfa[1] - ö. 16 Aralık 2007, Ankara[2]) Türk akademisyen, yazar, siyasetçi.

Saint George Avusturya Koleji'ni bitirdikten sonra Paris Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü'nde öğrenimine devam etmiş, Ankara İktisadi ve Ticari İlimler Akademisi'nde yüksek lisans yapmıştır. 1974 yılında doçent, 1979'da ise profesör olmuştur.

Şeker-İş Sendikası Eğitim ve Araştırma Müdürü, Akademi Başkan Yardımcılığı, TRT Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliği, Kredi Yurtlar Kurumu Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliği, Yüksek Hakem Kurulu Üyeliği (YÖK Temsilcisi olarak), Çalışma ve Sosyal Güvenlik Bakanlığı, Arabulucuları Seçme Komitesi Üyeliği görevlerinde bulunmuştur.

1982-2000 yılları arasında Gazi Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri İlişkileri Bölüm Başkanlığı, 1982-1986 yılları arasında Gazi Üniversitesi Rektör Yardımcılığı, 1993'te Gazi Üniversitesi Karadeniz Ülkeleri Türk Cumhuriyetleri ve Balkanlar Ekonomik ve Sosyal Araştırma ve Uygulama Merkezi Merkez Başkanlığı yapmış, 2000-2002 yıllarında Gazi Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Dekanlığı yapmıştır.[3]

2000 yılında dönemin iktidar partilerinin liderleri zirvesinde öğrencisi de olan MHP Genel Başkanı Devlet Bahçeli tarafından cumhurbaşkanlığı için önerilen isimlerden olmuştur.[4]

2002'de DYP'den siyasete girerek genel başkan yardımcısı olmuş[5] Demokratik Kitle Örgütlerinden Sorumlu olmuştur.[6] 2004-2007 yıllarında DYP Genel Sekreteri 2007'de partinin adının değişmesi ardından öldüğü 16 Aralık 2007 tarihine değin Demokrat Parti genel sekreteri olmuştur.

İngilizce, Fransızca ve Almanca bilen Prof. Dr. Kamil Turan'ın,[7] 40 adet bilimsel yayını ve 17 adet basılmış kitabı bulunuyor.[8][9]
