House of Knowledge

House of Knowledge (Lárúbáwá: دار العلم‎) jẹ́ Yunifásitì ayé àtijó kan ní Fatimid Caliphate (tí a mọ̀ sí Ìjíptì láyé òde òní), wọ́n da kalẹ̀ ní 1004 CE gẹ́gẹ́ ilé ìkàwé ṣùgbọ́n Fatimid Imam-Caliph al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah sọ di Yunifásítì ní ọdún kan náà.[1]

Gégé bi onítàn al-Maqrizi ṣe sọ ní ṣẹ́ńtúrì keedógún "Yunifásitì House of Knowledge ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ òṣìṣẹ́, àti àwọn àpò ìwé tí ó tó ogójì, ìkọkan wọn sì le gba ìwé tí ó tó ẹgbẹ̀rún méjìdínlógún, wọ́n sì sí àwọn àpò ìwé náà sílè fún ẹnikẹ́ni tí ó bá fẹ́ ìwé. Ẹni tí kò bá sì rí ìwé tí ó ń wá fún ara rẹ̀, ó le lọ bá àwọn òṣìṣẹ́ ibẹ̀ láti ba wá ilé ìwé náà."

Àwọn Fatimids gba oríṣiríṣi àwọn ìwé nípa ẹ̀sìn Islam, èyí sì mú kí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ònímọ̀ àti ọ̀jọ̀gbọ́n ẹ̀sìn Islam wá síbẹ̀ láti kàwé.
