由利本莊市（日语：由利本荘市／ゆりほんじょうし Yurihonjō shi */?）為位於日本秋田縣南部的城市。北邊與秋田市接壤，南鄰仁賀保市，西邊面向日本海，東邊則與大仙市等地區相鄰[1]。境內約74.7%的面積被山林覆蓋[2]，南部座落著海拔2236公尺的鳥海山，東部則是出羽丘陵[1]。由利本莊市是縣内面積最大的市町村，佔縣內總面積的10.4%[1]，大約相當於神奈川縣的一半。由於面積十分廣闊，因此當地的天氣預報需分為海岸和內陸兩個地區進行預測。當地以農業為主。

由利本莊市於2005年3月22日由本莊市與由利郡7町合併而成。

地理

氣候

由利本莊市是秋田縣內氣候相對溫暖的地區，但沿海地區和山區的氣候條件不同[1]。根據統計，2020年本莊地區的平均氣溫為13度，積雪深度為18公分；矢島地區的平均氣溫為11.8度，積雪深度則為34公分[3]。由利本莊市的內陸地區及靠近鳥海山的地區是豪雪地帶。位於海岸的本莊地區積雪量很少，但1998年11月19日當地曾創下單月93cm的積雪記錄[4]。

歷史

從設立出羽國的8世紀開始，由利本莊市中心（舊本莊市）便作為交通要衝而開始繁榮。當時在子吉川河口附近設有出羽國國府的據點由里柵[5]。

關原之戰後，由利地區由最上氏統治[6]。慶長18年（1613年），最上氏的家臣楯岡滿茂在由利本莊市尾崎地區建造主城，使由利地區成為城下町[7]。楯岡滿茂也將自己的姓氏改為本城氏，但元和8年（1622年）受到最上氏改易(失去大名身份)的影響而離開由利地區[8]。宇都宮城城主本多正純則是被減封並改易[7]。

元和9年（1623年)，常陸國府中藩的大名六鄉正乘在關原之戰中立下戰功，被德川家康獲封出羽國由利本莊的2萬石領地，成為本莊城的城主。此後六鄉氏統治由利本莊地區長達250年，直至幕末。同年本莊藩成立，領地為2萬石[7]。

寛永17年（1640年），贊岐國高松藩藩主生駒高俊被捲進氏族內亂。內亂平定後，高俊被幕府減封並流放至出羽國由利郡的矢島[9]。慶應4年（1868年）的戊辰戰爭中，本莊、龜田和久保田3藩加入奧羽越列藩同盟。 幕府方面命令鶴岡藩征討奧羽同盟，由利地區成為了3藩和鶴岡藩的戰場。
