Alfa-amilase pankreas adalah enzim yang pada manusia disandikan oleh genAMY2A.[4][5]
Amilase merupakan protein sekretori yang menghidrolisis ikatan 1,4-alfa-glukosida dalam oligosakarida dan polisakarida, sehingga mengatalisis langkah pertama dalam pencernaan pati dan glikogen makanan. Genom manusia memiliki klaster dari beberapa gen amilase yang diekspresikan pada tingkat tinggi baik di kelenjar ludah maupun pankreas. Gen ini menyandikan isoenzim amilase yang diproduksi oleh pankreas.[5]
