Aerva adalah genus tumbuhan dalam keluarga Amaranthaceae. Spesiesnya berasal dari wilayah paleotropis, yang tersebar di seluruh daratan Afrika, Madagaskar, dan pulau-pulau yang lebih kecil (Mauritius dan Socotra), hingga sebagian Timur Tengah, India, dan Asia Tenggara.[2][3] Aerva javanica merupakan spesies asing di Australia bagian utara.[4]
Setidaknya empat spesies dalam genus ini telah memperoleh jalur fiksasi karbon C4.[5][6]
